Air Fryer Berry Crumble

Coming to you today with a new recipe, my Air Fryer Berry Crumble! As you may know, I recently bought an Air Fryer from Kmart and I have been cooking up a storm at home ever since. A couple of weeks ago, I made my Spicy Corn Ribs with Coriander Cream and it was a big hit with you guys! Since then I have been very curious to see how I could use the air fryer to make a  dessert. I am a big fan of baked desserts so I decided to make a simple Berry Crumble that you can rustle up as a snack or post dinner treat in as little as 15 minutes. And it was a big success!

This Berry Crumble features a bright melody of sweet raspberries, strawberries and blueberries tossed in fresh lemon juice and a sprinkling of sugar. It's topped with a buttery oat crumble then baked in the air fryer for just 12 minutes making it the easiest and quickest dessert recipe ever. It's that easy! And you can use either fresh or frozen berries in this recipe, or a mix of both! To make your own Air Fryer Berry Crumble, read on for the recipe.

What is an air fryer?

An air fryer is a small convection oven designed to sit on a kitchen bench top. A fan circulates hot air at high speed, producing a crisp layer. In other words, it simulates deep frying without submerging the food in oil. The cooking time is really quick and because of this and the fact that they're a lot smaller than a normal kitchen oven, it's more energy efficient. It's also really easy to use and really easy to clean.

After doing a lot of research online, I dropped into Kmart and bought their 5.3L Air Fryer for $89. I had read a lot of great reviews and heard many good things from friends, so I thought it was time!

Why should I get an air fryer?

There are a few reasons why I think you should get an air fryer:

1. There is no need to waste time preheating an air fryer. You simply select the cooking time and temperature, and it starts cooking at the selected temperature straight away.

2. The cooking time in an air fryer is less than a normal oven. As an example, this Berry Crumble would typically take 30 minutes in an oven at 180C. However, an Air Fryer Berry Crumble only takes 12 minutes at 180C.

3. They are very easy to clean.

I don't have an air fryer so how can I make this recipe?

If you don't have an air fryer, no worries! You can bake this Berry Crumble in a preheated oven at 180C for 30 minutes. Make sure the crumble is placed on a baking tray at a lower level in your oven.
