My New Workshop

I wasn’t expecting to get so emotional…

Things got real today. After years of upcycling and making on my back deck, and storing all my tools, paint, and materials on the shelves in my studio, today my dreams of creating a dedicated workshop with stacks of storage finally came true! Let’s quickly rewind.

Becoming a full-time upcycler and maker was a distant dream when I started sharing my Instagram projects 3 years ago. I’ve always used the outdoor table on our back deck to do all my upcycling and making, and the library in my studio has been slowly taken over as a place to store my tools, materials, paint tins, magazines, styling props, cardboard, timber and lots more. To put it simply, life in our house is chaotic. When my dream of becoming a full-time upcycler and maker became a reality late last year, I started to feel the pressure and a lack of space to see the full potential of my projects.

I haven’t loved this messy era for months and I’ve always dreamed of having a hardworking workshop, so when Pinnacle Hardware said they’d love to help bring my dream to life, I couldn’t believe it! In a nutshell? Today has been incredible. I’ve always made do, but this moment feels special.

🛠️ My New Workshop: Transforming the mess in my garage into a functional and beautiful workshop

🕒 Project Time Estimate: 4 hours

Tools

  • Drill and bits

How To

Step 1: The Pinnacle Hardware Pro Series XL Mobile Storage Unit came assembled and all I had to do was install the castors using the screws provided.

Step 2: I assembled the XL Garage Cabinet. I managed to do this by myself, but if you have someone to help you, it will be quicker to assemble.

Step 3: I decided to add a splash of colour and painted the Metal Pegboard.

Step 4: Pinnacle has an extensive range of accessories, which makes storing and organising so easy. I chose a few Storage Trays, Compartment Organiser and Drawer Organiser. I recommend starting with these, then as you organise your tools and materials, figure out if you need more or other accessories from the Pinnacle range.

The Reveal

When my Pinnacle pieces were assembled together I started organising my tools, paint and materials. And I wasn’t expecting to get so emotional. I feel so happy and proud I have a workshop I can call my own, all thanks to Pinnacle! And I can't wait to create lots of new projects down here.
