DIY Scalloped Candle Holder

Let’s make a candle holder using garden edging!

Garden edging? Yup, things are about to get weird and I’m here for it. A few weeks ago I stumbled across scalloped garden edging that’s made using recycled rubber and immediately started to think of all the things I would make with it that didn’t involve our garden. First up? A scalloped candle holder.

♻️ Makng: DIY Scalloped Candle Holder

🕒 Project Time Estimate: 30 minutes

🪑 Skill Level: Beginner

💰 Materials Cost: $

Materials

Tools

  • Safety eyewear

  • Sharp knife

  • Drill and spade bit

How To

Step 1: Cut the scalloped edging using a sharp knife. The edging does have holes underneath, so make sure when you cut it you don’t see the holes at either end.

Step 2: Using a drill and a spade bit, drill holes into the top of each scallop. The edging does have some holes on top of the scallops already. Depending on the size of your candles, you might not need to drill into the holes to make them wider but I had to.

Step 3: Paint the scallops using a paint brush (a rough surfaces one is best) and set it aside to dry.

Step 4: When the paint has dried, push the candles into the holes. And that’s it!

Ta daaa!

After trying several methods of cutting it and some paint, I’m excited to share this fun project with you. I’m seriously shocked it worked. And the texture looks like concrete. I wonder what else I can make with this scalloped garden edging? Let me know in the comments if you’ve got any ideas. If you make your own DIY Scalloped Candle Holder, I’d love to see it so make sure you share it with me over on Instagram. I love seeing the projects you recreate!
