The Pink DIY Wooden Christmas Tree

The DIY Wooden Christmas Tree - but paint it pink!

Last year I made my sustainable DIY Wooden Christmas Tree and millions of people went crazy for it. In addition, cat owners became obsessed with it because their cats won’t tear it down but I also got called a sad beige mum with sad beige kids. LOL. Fast forward to a year later and I started thinking about putting it up again for Christmas last week and when I found a few different leftover pink paint sample pots when I did my end of year studio clean up on the weekend, it sparked a fun idea. What if I used them up and painted our Christmas tree pink? And that's what I did today and I'm obsessed!

And to see how it came together, take a look at this video!

How To

Step 1: To make this DIY Wooden Christmas Tree from scratch, check out my tutorial here for my step by step instructions, materials and tools.

Step 2: I applied two coats of pink paint I mixed using leftover sample pots all over the timber using a roller. Set aside to completely dry.

Step 3: When the paint had dried I began to set up the tree by placing the new plant pot upside down and inserting the galvanised pipe into the hole in the bottom of the plant pot.

Step 4: Starting with the large pieces first, I placed the pink painted timber slats onto the the galvanised pipe and continued to do so until all of the pink pieces were on the pipe.

Step 5: I spread timber around to make a beautiful tree shape and decorated it with DIY Fabric Wrapped Baubles, paper baubles and fairy lights. Then I used leftover corduroy fabric to make a huge fabric bow, which I attached to the top of the galvanised pipe using raffia. And that’s it!
